چکیده
Concentrations of 20 mug of sulfadiazine or 30 mug of d-cycloserine/ml were found to be suitable for testing the differential susceptibility of Chlamydia trachomatis and C. psittaci to these drugs in cell cultures.

Isolation of Chlamydia spp. from Ewes and Does in Iran
Enzootic ovine abortion is caused by Chlamydia abortus and may result in abortion among small ruminants during the last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy. Enzootic abortion is diagnosed by isolation of the agent or detection of its nucleic acid in the products of abortion or vaginal excretions of freshly aborted females. Isolation of chlamydial agents in cell culture is the gold standard, so in the presen...
متن کاملAntimicrobial susceptibility of one thousand bacterial isolates to five antibacterial agents commonly used in the Iranian poultry industry
BACKGROUNDS: Different susceptibility rates of pathogenic bacteria to antimicrobial agents are considered major factors in the choice of drugs and the success of treatments. Concerns have been raised regarding the emergence of antimicrobial resistance among pathogenic bacteria that may result in unpredictable antimicrobial susceptibilities and therapy failure. OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this in...
متن کاملSusceptibility of various cell lines to Neospora caninum tachyzoites cultivation
Neospora caninum is a coccidian protozoan parasite which is a major cause of bovine abortions and neonatal mortality in cattle, sheep, goat and horse. Occasionally, cultured cells are used for isolation and multiplication of the agent in vitro with several purposes. In this study the tachyzoite yields of N. caninum were compared in various cell cultures as the host cell lines. Among the cell cu...
متن کاملSelective infection of astrocytes by Chlamydia trachomatis in primary mixed neuron-glial cell cultures.
Both human biovars of Chlamydia trachomatis were able to productively infect primary cultures of fetal rat brain cells. Infected brain cells released bacteria that reinfected McCoy cells well as other cultured brain cells. The chlamydiae infected cultured astrocytes but were never observed to grow inside neurons, suggesting a selective susceptibility of specific brain cells to chlamydial infect...
متن کاملP-41: Association Study of MICA*008 Gene Polymorphism with Chlamydia Trachomatis Infection in Infertile Men Reffer to Royan Institute
Background: Chlamydia trachomatis(CT) is an obligate intracellular bacteria, requires living cells to replicate itself. CT infection can remain up to 4 years in the couple and affect their fertility. The relationship between CT and infertility is very important because most patients are asymptomatic and untreated. After infection with CT, NK activation signals begin through interactions of its ...
